Today, Leica’s Applied Business is serving customers in almost any Industrial & Health & Life Science vertical with imaging and measurement solutions for organic and inorganic samples. The value for the customer is created by delivering new insights and discoveries or by providing insights in a more efficient manner. In order to realize our product strategy and digital solutions we are establishing a dedicated function within our Product Management which will allow us to get closer to our Asian customers to understand their workflows and needs and translate them into future products.

In this newly created function, the Workflow Manager Industry (m/f/d) will be responsible for further development of customer intimacy in Industrial Metrology and QC workflows. Customers are seeking for reliable and automatic answers & results from their routine samples. Metrology is spreading from 2D/3D Surface Measurement to Material Analyses and Customers are seeking for reliable and automatic answers & results from their routine samples in quality assurance. QC is spreading from Incoming inspection through process/production control steps and outgoing inspection. Through interaction with customers, industry activities and our sales organizations, the role is expected to capture in-depth insights of customers workflows and translate these insights into a roadmap of innovations that drive the growth of the business. Our focus is on the Asian market. The position is part of the Applied Workflow Management team and will report to Director Applied Application/Workflow. Position will be located at our Technology Center in Heerbrugg, CH.

Product Workflow Manager Industry - Asian Markets (m/f/d)

Your area of responsibility includes:

  • Define and create workflows in the defined segments to support product development, product portfolio, roadmap and requirement definition with deep application/workflow knowledge
  • Responsible for realization of customer workflow in new product developments
  • Support the objective analysis of potential Asian market opportunities. Understand opportunities in defined market segments and translate into application/workflow roadmaps.
  • Execute Voice of Customers activities in coordination with the team to understand and validate customer insights
  • Build strong collaboration networks to tap into application/workflow trends
  • Support identification and development of BU strategy & growth plan
  • Integrate market, customer and application trends into an application/workflow roadmap that drives innovation as well as sustainable differentiation and growth and by this facilitate long-term business results
  • Execute assigned launch activities of workflow products
  • Support campaigns and marketing activities with application/workflow specific content
  • Deliver workflow trainings in coordination with Business Execution and Product Management teams
  • Support strategic sales opportunities with application/workflow support (2nd level) to increase Win Rates and Sales Competency

What we expect form you: 

  • Educational degree with focus on Physics, Automation Technology, Production Technology, Metrology, Control and Regulation technology, Optic & Mechanic Engineering or similar.
  • 2-3 years of working experience on Asian market in one or more fields of Surface Metrology, Material Analyses, Material Research, Quality Control in Industrial or Medical Device segments or similar.
  • Product management experience is desired
  • First experience with the tools of the marketing of complex capital goods, experience with sales-related tasks and projects
  • Deep market knowledge and industry knowledge, in particular in Asia (China etc.)
  • Very good analytical and strategic skills
  • Excellent communication and team skills
  • English fluent in word and writing. Additional languages like Chinese, Mandarin are very welcome. German is welcome, but not mandatory.
  • Global Travel of ~30%
